About
This is the personal weblog of Funkdancer, a Norwegian fella who moved to Melbourne from Oslo in 2000. In November 2005 I got married to the great & beautiful Australian woman of Maori & Scottish ancestry that I met in late 2001. Add some Norwegian to that blood mix and we have the potential mix of a true warrior, methinks.
The word Funkdancer comes from one of my main interests in the early 2000s - street dancing, dance aerobics, hip - hop, you name it. I had been very much into that for many years, but now several years have passed. Whilst I was very fit back then, there’s a bit of a belly happening now - but I’m still enjoying regular gym sessions and would like to get back if I should ever get the time to do some classes and I also happened to find some good ones.
(Update: In February 200 I discovered the Melbourne Music Academy and have resumed street dancing classing, aiming at doing 2 hip hop and 1 popping classes per week. Week by week, a few grammes of beer muscle are shaved off the belly!)
I am currently enjoying a career in analysis/programming in an awesome corporate environment related to corporate networks, whilst spending any spare time on Live for Speed racing, home theatre, photography or reading about cars.
Most of my spare time not spent with my wife goes to the work in Ozbee Racing. We run the Monday Night Racing series of the Live for Speed car racing simulator, and I do my share of the administrative work which includes writing race reports and more. I’m a middle pack racer, not really there at the pointy end but greatly enjoying the midfield scrap at the moment; it’s a great hobby, a fantastic community and it sure is a lot cheaper than going on the track.
Well it ain’t exactly free, A$280 for the TrackIR, $360 for the Advantage1 pedals, and coming up another $450 for the Logitech G25 pedals. You gotta be innit to winnit.
